Making A DoD Movie: The Complete Guide

Selecting Clips

To start off you need your demos in your day of defeat/dod folder. I will NOT explain how to record a demo in this tutorial. If you do not know how to please uninstall Day of Defeat.

Selecting your clips is somewhat time consuming depending on the amount of clips you have. You may be surprised that 5 demos will NOT give you enough footage. In fact, you might find that a great majority of your demos will have nothing worthy.

To start off, load your demo by typing viewdemo xxx.dem in your console.

Once your demo is loaded you may fast forward, rewind, pause and play your demo. I suggest that you play your demos in x2 speed (or more) and then reduce the speed on a nice run to save time in this process. Alot of people choose bad footage. This is the first step to wasting your time and making a shit movie. When choosing footage take some things into consideration when selecting them as worthy of your movie making time:

1.Is it a nice streak  2. Are the shot/s oh a skillful quality  3. Would I get bored watching these shots in a movie  4. Can I apply some nice effects to this streak/shot

Sure there are other things you may want to take in to consideration, but this is just to give you a guide rather than holding your hand the whole way.

Once you have found a nice clip start a second before the clip and write down on paper:

1. Name of demo  2. Start time of clip  3. Small description of the clip  4. Give it a rating from 1-5 (this way if you have too much footage you can cut the shit stuff)

Now you have a list. Now you are ready to do some shit.

Congratulations you have now reached the level of:  A Nubs Cock
